Rash on penis head??

Posted , 9 users are following.

Hi

I have for the past month had what looks like dry red pinkish rash on my penis head. It causes me no issue whatsoever but I'm unsure to what it may be?

Also a part of the rash has a slightly raised bump. I'm Circumcised and only have one sexual partner.

any ideas? thanks

Hello, what you could have is a skin condition developing. What I would suggest you do is to not directly use soap or shower gel on the head of your penis to wash it, when you shower mainly use the water and the inside if your hand to clean your penis. Make sure you rinse away all body cleansers from your penis at the end of the shower, then fully dry your penis first when you get out of the shower with a clean dry towel that only you use.

Get yourself some liquid coconut oil and apply a thin coating to the penis every other day, and the best time to do this is after a shower.

What the oil will do is either help the skin of your penis to be more healthy, however the lower area you have circled may worsen in particular after a few weeks - what this would suggest is that there is a skin condition present. The specialist that could help you should the problem worsen is a Dermatologist.

do you have any idea what type of rash it could be??

Yes I do, but I am not going to speculate as to what this actually is. Unfortunately for things like this that appear on the skin sometimes there can be a really simple cause that is easily rectified. Other times these can be relatively minor skin issues that if treated CORRECTLY can be cured fairly quickly with the right form of treatment. The other possibility is you have a severe skin condition developing - again some of these when treat with the right medication can be prevented from developing into a permanent skin disorder. Others are simply the beginnings of a permanent skin disorder - they can be minimised with correct treatment, but they will never be cured.

This is why it is so important to get this correctly diagnosed and the correct form of treatment put in place. Unfortunately, Family or Regular Doctors or GP's sometimes do not have the practical knowledge of being able to accurately identify between the different conditions. Sometimes they will refer patients to a Dermatologist and sometimes they will give medication for the simple potential condition to see if this cures the problem. The unfortunate thing with a trial and error approach to treatment is that many people with these issues simply do not return to see the person that first prescribed medication and the problem they have becomes worse, or even permanent. If you can go directly to a skin specialist then please do .......

Hello again thanks for the update. It would be really good if you could come on here every month to 6 weeks and say how you are getting on, or like this, when you have seen a Medical Professional. This is the only way we can learn from one another ....

Hi, i have the exact problem and this is not jut a skin condition. I also got the Clotrimazole tube and antibiotics but it will always comes back. I have later learned that this condition can either be syphilis that can be transmitted through blood contact, or Linchen planus which is a condition that can arise from lung damage/malfunction. I was a heavy smoker which is why my blood was dirty and it affected areas where blood circulation is critical (penis, butts, muscle veins etc.)

You can solve this by quitting smoking, exercise, and a healthy diet while taking medication from your doctor to control the rush.
