My daughter 17 year old daughter was diagnosed with raynauds 2 years ago and recently she has developed rashes on her arms, hands, cheeks and eyelids that are red appear raised and scaly. I am worried as the doctors just seem to ignore it for hayfever but they are really weirds rashes only occuring when shes in the sunlight. I heard somone said it could be due lupus but I wasnt sure waht should i do

    Hi fakiha

The sun could be causing the rashes due to your daughters lupus and the scaley eyelids could be a condition called blepheritis...you wil have to take your daughter to an optometrist via your health provider to get her eyes examined..there is treatment for the condition which i am sure the opti will discuss with you if she is diagnosed with blepheritis...best wishes...

I'm surprised the Doctor dismisses it especially with other autoimmune activity. I'd contact a Lupus specialist and get referred to them by your Dr. This was you're taking it into your own hands and if it is Lupus your daughter can get treated and carry on a good life. Don't get me wrong, most Doctors are top notch, but some dismiss which is wrong. Good luck.

Thank you, I think I will ask them to refer her to a rheumatologist.

    Hi fakiha

Yes ask your doc to refer your daughter to a rheumatologist......has your daughter had blood tests for lupus? Such as inflammatory blood tests an ESR,CRP and ANA blood tests and ask for the dsDNA test that is a definitive blood test for lupus...best wishes....
