Ratio of bi car to water

Hi seen some posts in here about making bi carb to strong. What's the best way to mix it I have a small spritzer 100ml bottle but don't want to make it too weak or too strong. Also does any one mix any oils with it or should I just use the bi carb and water. This is all too new for me and scared at how quickly if has progressed in about 6 weeks. sad(

    Hi Jackie,

I just posted in another thread about what I've been doing -

I had lots of luck with sitting in a warm bowl of water with as much bicarbonate of soda as I could dissolve in it twice a day.  I then mixed high quality food grade coconut oil with half as much tea tree oil in a little jar and applied it to the whole area after each bathe.  I have used Australian and New Zealand tea tree oil which seem to work equally well, though I prefer the NZ variety as the smell is more flowery. I really feel it is under control and my doctor was staggered at how much of a change since the last time she'd seen me saying I looked normal down below!

I think spraying after wiping would be good too, but would leave me with quite dry skin that would be fragile.  I suggest adding coconut and tea tree oil either instead or as well as.  The coconut oil is quite light and the tea tree oil is quite tingly - similar feeling to peppermint on your skin.

    Good luck.

I forgot to add, I don't use the bicarb bathe any more as the oil seems to be enough to keep it under control.  :-)

Jackie, 1/3 cup of bicarb in a bath and just a pinch in 100 ml. More is not better. Use a bottle to rinse after peeing, etc. Then pat dry and apply the oil(s) as a barrier against the next pee. Mixing the two doesn't make much sense.

Just use warm water and mix in the bicarb.  (three pinches in my 240cc/8oz bottle) Deb dry with bathroom tissue and cover with coconut oil.  This combo helps with the 'melting' of the fusing.

Plus an alkaline diet - no gluten, no dairy, no sugar, careful with soya.

Sorry, I just see that Morrell already gave the answer to your question.

Can I just ask you Hanny as I know you have had success with used bicarbonate of soda, I use the bath each morning (prefer bath to shower.) would it do any harm to use daily as a preventive measure.

One thing I learned with this LS is that you have to observe closely as to what the reaction of your body/vulva will be with things.  I do a baking soda bath every other day.  The day that I don't do a bath, I fill the sink with warm water and some baking soda and do what people call a sponge bath.

Someone said the other day - more is not better.  I think that she's right.  Thing is - this bicarbonate idea is about the ph level.  Supportive as well is my alkaline diet:  no gluten, no dairy, no sugar, no alcohol and careful with soya.  So, if you wish to do more - it's the diet that also will support to keep LS under control.
