Raw Honey For Outbreaks?

Has anyone tried raw honey for outbreaks? I've seen it mentioned on the internet but all the articles and blogs seem to be referencing the same study involving raw Manuka honey. Just wondering if anyone has actually tried it and had any luck.

I think that if all this naturally healing herbs and stuff was accurate, the doctors wouldn't be telling us that there is no cure.

The honey isn't a cure, but the study seems to suggest it shortens the length of the outbreak.

Too sticky and messy, plus better ingested than wasted on your genitals! Acyclovir cream works best, I've found.

So I tried the raw honey. My mom had just visited her sister who lives in NZ and brought back some honey that was made on her farm. Not pure raw Manuka honey but had some in it. I tried it for 24 hours and it took away all the redness and inflammation. It felt somewhat soothing at first but by the end of the day I was kind of itchy. 3 days later and I'm still really itchy but I think it's because the sores are all drying up and scabbing. Not totally sure it's the honey, it could be the olive leaf I started taking again or the meds finally kicked in (I started them 4 days before the honey), or what, but my gut tells me the raw honey helped.
