I also take microgynon 30 and I too feel very down some days, I feel paranoid over the silliest of things, constantly think of the negative sides of myself and appearance. As a result of this my sex drive is virtually non existant!

At first I thought things would be fine in time, but no some days are good others are bad but there's no real pattern to it all that I can work out.

I am going to go back to my doctors for a referal of other contraceptivesad

    I had to switch from microgynon after I realised how much weight I had put on - my appetite was huge and I often ate more than my boyfriend! I started taking brevinor but have had problems with this as well - although I don't eat as much I find myself increasingly emotional and short tempered, and my sex drive has disappeared!

    I guess all oral contraceptives have their ups and downs, it's just finding one that's right for you. Good luck everyone!

    I recently switched from microgynon 30 to gynera because if teh same side effects you discussed. I love it. It has cut my apettite in half. my sex drive is normal again and there are no more weight gain issues in fact i'm losing weight. I have also returned to my noraml non irratable self.

    i definatley recomand Gynera to all microgynon 30 sufferers.

    microgynon nasty stuff made me pass out a couple of times a week. swaped after 3 months
