Re-rupture of Achilles' tendon

In 2001, I had surgery for a 90 percent rupture of the Achilles' tendon for the second time, recently I did something to it because it is extremely painful to walk and sore to the touch.  Has anyone ever had this problem?? Do you think even with all the screws that I could have ruptured it again?? I haven't been to a doctor yet.

Your more likely to rupture a once repaired Achilles than an Achilles that's never been injured before.

    Does it feel like tendinitis?

Yes!!!! I'm thinking a few days icing and resting might help. I just hope strands of tendon haven't pulled away from screws.  They told me that the cant do surgery a third time on Achilles. They would have to use an animals tendon. Great!! Which I would never consent to surgery again unless it put me in a wheelchair permanently.

How were screws used in your surgery?  I'm not aware of any hardware left in my body after the rupture surgery that I had.  It's out because after a second rupture the situation is now different in some way?

Is the tendon anchored to the bone by the assistance of screws?  In general I think the tendon running from the heal needs to be reattached to the remaingng tendon running to the calf.

The screws were attached to bone.  The tendon was stretched, cut and trimmed and re-attached to bone. In the second surgery the same procedure was used. The tendon was sewn together.
