    Hi Lisa,

Yes, I am also suffering anxiety attacks, which I wasn't getting before I started on Fluoxetine just over a week ago. They are a very unpleasant side effect but I am confident they will soon subside. They were much worse on Seroxat. Hang on in there.

thankyou so much for putting my mind at rest, am now on day 12 of the prozac, funny how you count the days until it works. am persevering with it but keep waking up at 5 every morning with massive anxiety attacks and feel like the world is going to end.

i hope you all feel better soon and keep me posted how you are doing

lisa. by the way the doc says it can take up to 4 weeks for it to take effect so i'm counting down the days.

Hi all, now on day 14. Haven't regained appetite yet but starting to feel a bit more optimistic and the dreaded anxiety feelings are subsiding but haven't stopped completely. Felt fine yesterday but woke up this morning feeling horrible.

hi all, i just wanted to add a warning about counting down the days til it starts 'workin'. I found the first 2 weeks awful but just kept thinking i had to hang on a bit longer. The side effects started to ease off, but i was still struggling to cope with everything whilst studying aswell.

I had heard that it could take up to 6 weeks to take effect, but that kept getting closer and i could see no difference. At almost exactly 6weeks after i started on fluoxetine everythin seemed to fall apart. I had problems with study, family and friends and had given up on things ever getting better. I overdosed on fluoxetine, but my friend called me before i had taken enough to do any serious damage and it was enough to make me stop. The next few days weren't pleasant (imagine side effects x10!!) but i recovered fine and tried to concentrate on positives.

I have improved slightly since but fluoxetine certainly hasn't been a quick fix for me. I would also like to point out however, that a friend has taken fluoxetine in the past and has had no problems with it. From reading the other posts it seems that everyone reacts differently and it takes different amounts of time.

Good luck to you all and i hope you find the happiness that you deserve. smile
