Reaction to Pravastatin

I have high triclycerides and took SIMVASTATIN for many years. Five years ago I started getting severe muscle pain in my hips and legs. My Dr. told me that it is a reaction to the SIMVASTATIN. He explained that you can get a reaction even if you took it for years. I have been taking fish oil but the triclycerides are still high. I had a challenge test for PRAVASTATIN on Monday and 20 minutes after taking the pill, acid reflux started: burning in mouth and sour taste. Can anyone recommend a med and or supplement that is not a statin but helps bring the triclycerides down. Thanks.
