Hi Alan,  I had what the doctors termed a 'severe local reaction' to a tetanus jab about 25 years ago.  They told me to massage baby oil into the injection site and not to have another anti tetanus jab for at least 10 years.  Needless to say,  I haven't had one since!

Have you been back to your doctor and told him?  I think you should because your reaction is more widespread than mine was.  It could also be coincidence and something else entirely.

Been to the doctors took 5 visits to be properly examined then said go to A & E ay local hospital but didnt ring in advance to warn them.

Had a positive reponse from the A&E Consultant and was refered to the critical assesment ward was them examined by a gereatric muppet who asked me to lift my legs (which i could'nt) so he lifted them asnd said oh thats OK! Then asked me to walk and lift one leg which i could'nt as the other leg could'nt support me. He said that was OK also. What on earth is the NHS coming to?

Oh dear me.  The NHS is very hit and miss these days.  I take it the 'muppet' was a junior doctor and not the Consultant.

Can you see a different doctor in your GP Practice?  You might get a different response, or even a different A&E?

Actually the muppet was THE senior Consultant at the hospital if it was'nt for the fact that my wife and I are under the hospital for other things i would have put a complaint in and to cap it all he was'nt even wearing an identity badge. His first comment was that i should stop drinking, I am teetotal!!!!

He sounds as though he is rather blinkered in his outlook.

If you are under the hospital for other things, then that suggests that you may be taking other drugs.  Now, obviously I don't know you so I can opnly make suggestions based on my own experiences.  And I think that if I was coming up against a brick wall,  I would go to the hospital pharmacy and ask to speak to a Pharmacist and ask him whether the tetanus jab could have reacted with one of your other drugs.  He might come up with a suggestion.

It was a hospital pharmacist who told me what my skin problem was, when a dozen doctors hadn't a clue.  The Pharmacist was absolutely right.

Your Consultant might have been having an off day or he might just be blinkered.
