had a gl 10 years ago, complete failure. 2 yrs later underwent full urinamics testing (just awful). all the same symtons. was seriously considering a turp but i think i may decide against that after reading all the forum. but very curious about the one where the fellow reported that he might get regular ejaculation after takiong sudafed. does this work? and hjow long b4 sex is suggested?

Why was your GL a total failure and why wait eight years to do something about it?

i read about the sudafed on one of the forum responses. one patient said that the sudafed might work in changing the retrograde ejaculation. Yes, the gl was a complete failure. i waited 2 years before i sought further consultation when I got so fed up with the symptons. That testing was so awful and painful i figured i would just try to live with it. so i did that for the past 5 yrs. i had finally decided to investigate the possibility of doing a turp to alleviate the problems. my primary thought that this would be the way to go. after seeing a specialist he could only assure me with a 'should work'. i have just lately found out about the forum and now see what looks like the results of a poor outcome seem to outnumber the good outcomes. also the pain & time to get back to a regular routine may have persuaded
me to just live with it. just hoping that this route will not make the condition worse in the future. i am 67 yrs. old.

GL is now the preferred treatment for the NHS in the UK replacing TURP.
The GL lasted eight or nine years before my prostate regrew to 135 grams.

Gordy,
just wondering why 67 y/o would worry so much about ejaculation? If that is more important to you then emptying your bladder, than TURP is not for you. As for sex you can go when you are ready. I had sex on my 14 th post TURP day. Sex was enjoyable with only difference to no ejaculate. It goes into your bladder. You feel contractions and waves of pumping but you don't see white. It is way better then vasectomy, more natural feeling and more natural sensation.
I am 15 years younger and it worked for me very well before my RP for prostate Ca.
