Reading the right books!

I used to read endless books on Psychiatry, Psychology etc, to try and understand why I was having panic attacks, they only made me worse. I went to see a Doctor, who told me to read books on physiology instead, as in them it mentions the adrenal gland and how much adrenalin could be produced at any one 24 hour period. I read one and it made me realise that my panic attacks would not last forever, the next day I wasn't frightened anymore of the attack and now don't have them at all.

      I can't remember the title, but any book on the kidney and adrenal gland would do. You see the adreanal gland is on top of the kidney and is very small, so it cannot produce endless amounts of adrenalin.

    Yes, please, what is the name of the book.  I have been talking with a chiropractor who says my adrenal glands are fatigued.  I'm taking vitamins and herbs to help with it...if this is the cause of my anxiety, I want to know all that I can about how to defend them.  Thanks.

      The galnd is on top of the kidney and is very small. If you are expeiencing a lot of anxiety, the I suppose your gland could be fatigued. I can't remember the title, but any book on the kidney and adrenal gland would do. It really helped me to realize that I was safe and the panic would go if I thought...Yeah it can only produce a small amount of adrenaline, so do your worst.

      Yes, read books on Physiology. I did and I couldn't believe how quickly I regained peace into my life. You see I wasn't scared anymore of endless panic attacks, as I now knew that adrenalin can only be produced in small amounts by the body. Let me know how you get on. I am always here to help anyone.     Hi Everyone,  What Thomas 885511 says does make some sense.  Thyroid and Adrenals are linked.  Trying googling thyroid and adrenals should be a section on adrenal distress and the symptoms it can cause which are very similar to underactive thyroid.  I have anxiety and under active thyroid although I don't suffer from panic attacks as such.  Hope this helps.
