Really Bad Anxiety in desperate need for help...

Posted , 3 users are following.

I'm a 19 year old male and have suffered from anxiety for about 3 years now. This past year has had its ups and downs . I've never told anyone I have anxiety. Nor have seeked out help for it. Mostly because I'm a very private , independent kind of guy. But Lately it's been really bad and I don't know what to do.. I get this really bar overcoming of fear for abosulety no reason. Just straight up scared for nothing at all. It comes on randomly . Mostly at night when I try to go to sleep. Not really much during the day . I haven't seen a doctor or talked to anybody about it. Mostly because even anti anxiety drugs can have bad side effects . And that scares me even more. So I would think it would make my anxiety worse if I would take them. I really don't know what to do . I just tough all my attacks out and move on , but lately it's been getting harder and harder.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First thing is to know what you are dealing with here understanding it. Go on utube and learn about the science behind a panic attack. Watch a few videos.  Second learn self calming skills and tools for anxiety. There are tons of books, anxiety workbook, podcast and Pinterest stuff on anxiety and panic attacks. Definetly try yoga.

You can always speak with your gp, this is so common its almost epidemic already medical breakthroughs on anxiety is coming along nicely. It is a newer research as they have spent the past sweeping it under the rug and not taking it seriously.  Eat balaced and healthy and try and sleep well. Poor sleep makes everything worse. Avoid caffiene and basic junk food, especially ones filled with sugars and dyes. Rid fake sweetners complatly. Real food will always trump additives and fake foods

its a disorder you really need to understand that. Its manageable but this is a mal function. How or why the transmitters mal function and trigger off fight or flight is complicated but it happens. Each time you "fear" it when a panic attack happens you are stregnthening the connection  of the fight or flight. Those who do not have it would never really undersatnd it. The same goes for many of it symptoms. Although they are easy to recognize. The media mocks it but thy are getting better. Never berate or insult yourself for having it, no one wants it!

you are not alone in this. Not even close and dont concern yourself with being embarrased. Better to get help at least therpay to hold you together. It needs to be managed. A tremendous amount of time you will find it runs in families whether it is learned behavior or a gentic predisposition for it, so if  you have  i can almost say so does someone else in your immediate family. Some cover it up or have learned to live with it, but it exists.

You could try Breathing Exersises and Relaxation Techniques, Mindfulness is the favoured on. Try Amazon there are books on the subject and there are also sites that explain Breathing Techniques

I do however feel you need to see a Doctor and explain what is going on.

To know the reasons why you are suffering from Anxiety or Panic Attacks makes it easier to treat, Try and work out the cause
