Really bad sore throat and trouble speaking?

So for a week now I’ve had an awful sore throat that’s progressively getting worse. I thought it was the start of a cold, but I’ve only had a slight runny nose, nothing that would resemble a cold. I then started coughing, I’ve looked in the back of my throat and it’s just super red, maybe a few small white spots on my tonsils but they don’t look swollen. The worst part of this is I’m getting random twitches in my throat, I can’t really explain it, but when I breathe or go to talk my throat just spasms out. It’s worrying me that I won’t be able to breathe soon. I’m very tired, I feel like I’ve got a cold, that’s how my body feels. My voice is very croaky, and I’ve started coughing up a bit of phlegm every now and then. My symptoms don’t really seem to match tonsillitis or laryngitis, any help would be much appreciated!
