Really extreme pain

Hey all, I was diagnosed with poly cystic ovaries (but not the syndrome) when I was 19, about a year ago, but I've suffered symptoms of it for about 5 years. Along with the cramps, irregular bleeding (I once had a period for 9 weeks boooo) and sickness I have what can only be described as chronic pain in/around my cervix. I've been screened for cervical cancer once but the results have been negative (also being quite young the doctors continually wrongly assume I have STDs -- it's defo not that). It is debilitating pain that crops up whenever it feels like it, it's totally random. It's a VERY sharp and VERY strong pain very low in my pelvis/in my cervix. I was wondering if anyone else has this with poly cystic ovaries, or whether it is something totally disconnected? It took the doctors 5 years to diagnose my polycystic ovaries and now this is getting concerning, I'd just really like the pain to stop, don't want to be waiting another 5 years to sort this out. It is like no other pain I've experienced, and I have a very high pain threshold -- I dislocated my knee cap on a hike in Africa and popped it back in myself like it was no big deal, but this cervix pain can bring me to the floor.

I hope you're all well!

xx

Ironically I did the same thing recently with my knee.. It did pop back in eventually.. The cervical pain sounds like a contracting pain.. Take strong anti-inflammatories Naproxen.. Or aspirin based effervescent tabs.. With a glass of milk.. Use a heated bean bag and lay to thelower. back.

Thanks so much for your help! Going to the doctor soon to get to the bottom of it, it's definitely not a normal cramp and the area isn't only in my uterus area so could well be that I have endometriosis as apparently it can grow all over the place!

Hi lucy95652 - Are you polycystic or follicular? I am polycystic according to my ganecologist and doctor and I did (and sometimes still do) suffer from cramps so bad that I wouldn't be able to get out of bed. I've been told by my doctor that I can help to manage this by eating the right foods, but I would also definitley speak to them about medication to help with this. In case there is anything they can suggest that will help. Try to avoid things like dairy, red meat, caffine, and lots of sugar.

    good luck :-) xx

Thanks so much, I do already have a pretty good diet but am going to try avoiding those things like the plague! Will be happy to go without my beloved tea if it means less of this stabbing pain haha. Take care xx
