Really need some insight.... IBS or something else!?!

For the last 2.5 weeks I have had diarrhea EVERY SINGLE DAY... Afterwards the pain deep inside my rectum is almost unbearable. I have absolutely no pain before or during the BM, just after.

I have had a slew of symptoms for quite some time which are:

- Very few periods a year (10 years)

- very bad pain in pelvis, (2.5 years) shooting pain, into vaginal hole and rectum (5 months)

- prescribed BC by Dr to start periods as he was concerned with endometrial lining thickness. ( On LOLO for 1 year had 4 periods)

- Discomfort while having intercourse

- Bad, Sharp pain after sex or orgasm

- Diarrhea daily. (  2.5 weeks)

- Extreme pain in rectum and sometimes pelvis after every bowel movement.

- Sharp pain in left pelvic area shootimg down leg.

There are no stomach cramps, or cramping... No blood in stool. I went to hospital for pain and was put on IV drip due to being so dehydrated from diarrhea... But no help for the pain. I have lost 16lbs 😞

Does this sound like IBS? Because if it is I dont know how so many people live this way.

Look forward to any and all comments or insight. Thank you!

It sounds like it could be IBS I would defiantly get it checked out by a GI doctor or PCP.

I am sorry to hear about your situation. I too have had that deep rectal pain over the years ,35 yrs now. I am fairly certain I have IBS as it runs in my family and I think the spasm that causes the rectal pain is part of the disorder. I also have had the pain after sex. I most recently had chronic diarrhea for almost 2 months but think I attribute that to antibiotic use. It seemed to start with the Augmenting I was on for sinus. I am on Nexium for GERD and that helped get rid of it. The GERD was a result of another antibiotic my Dr thought I needed for my diarrhea. When I finally demanded tests turns out it was all unnecessary . I am waiting to get a colonoscopy. I hope you get to the bottom of your issues. That pain about brings me to tears so I know how uncomfortable it is. I think it's called Tenesmus.

You poor thing it sounds like your having a terrible time. I also get pain following a BM but nothing like as bad as you describe, mine is more of a strong ache across my lower back.

IBS isn’t a thing in itself.  It’s just something that covers a collection of symptoms when the doctors can’t pinpoint what is actually wrong. That’s why there are so many people on here with completely different problems.

Personally I don’t think IBS would be the cause of all your problems.  Which specialists have you seen?  I would suggest a urogynaecologist so check out the pain after sex.

Thanks everyone. I have an appt with a new gynec next month, so really hoping she can help me.

I am 30 years old, have a 10 year old daughter. I have lost the 16lbs Im guessing just from the diarrhea as I have been not feeling up to exercising. Pretty much everything I eat comes back out. 😬

The hospital didnt seem to concerned with any of that just the dehydration.

Im going to bring all of this up to my gynec, I dont know if its all connected or not but want some tests done ASAP.
