really scared of starting this drug

started ramipril today 2.5 mg feeling really scared about taking it but more scared of having a heart attack , took my first 1 at tea time and feeling really on edge , just hope its because i don't really want to take it

    Dont worry about it I have been on this for a year now and although I had the cough for the first couple of months I am fine now with no problems.

    Sometimes its not wise to read the side effect as you then just sit and wait for something to happen when it most likely will not. I am on 8mg .

    I have been on Ramipril(10MG) for just over a yr now, had no problems,with them, not everybody gets the side effects and if you do happen to feel that your gonna cough,pop a sweet in your mouth, its a good excuse to have one smile [/b]

    thank you for all your replys , what a good site this is , they say a problem shared and all that , well took my second tablet tonight and so far so good, legs aching alittle but that could be anything will just keep my eye on it, not feeling as anxious tonight thank you for your kind comments x

    i have had unstable hbp for some time now, this week 197/92 so today been prescribed ramipril 2.5, i am very anxious to take this after reading all the comments from other users as i am due to go on holiday next week and frightened with the flight etc,,, can anyone say if they have been in the same situation or is it me just being silly?
