Really strange urination symptoms and nothing?

HELLO dear people! I hope to have some answer and that's why I will try to write something about my problem at this moment!

First of all I'm 21 year old male, having this problem for two months now, already was visiting doctor two times, even visit emergency room and NOTHING! Did blood test, urine test, ultrasound for kidneys, prostate, bladder and all results was good, doctors could say nothing, but it is not getting better. There was no problems like that before and my urination was normal like for most people.

It all started about two months ago, when almost two weeks I was urinating only one or two times a day, less than half liter per day, even if I drink about 3 liter fluids everyday!

Then little bit more than one week my situation was back to normal like before, but starting from end of last year until now there is something strange happening.

Sometimes I can go all day without need to visit toilet, but I make myself to go and try to push urine out, but just little bit comes out (while drinking 2-3 liter fluids per day). In other hand sometimes especially at evening I can visit toilet every 15 minutes, feeling that I need to go all the time and again not much is coming out, often need to push it out, sometimes need to wait and sit in toilet for 30 minutes and only few drops coming out.

I don't understand what is wrong with me. Most information in internet connected with my symptoms are something to do with kidney diseases, but I have healthy kidneys. I'm feeling dumb, because all doctors are saying there is nothing wrong and I need to calm down, but it is hard in this situation.

There is no other symptoms, no pain, no weight gain, urine is always light, clear, just often feeling heavy in my upper abdomen, however when two times doctors checked my bladder, they said it is EMPTY!!! I just don't understand???

Thank you!!!

Hi, Harold! Sorry about your urinary woes, I have interstitial cystitis and can relate to some of your issues. Has your urethra been checked? A stricture might cause low flow and difficulty excreting. I really hope you find an answer soon.

Thank you, Amanda! I also hope to find reasonable answer for all this problem. I read about interstitial cystitis, not good also, but those symptoms are not in my case. I can go all day without willing to go or other day feeling the need every few minutes, but it is different everyday.

Do you have a consistent diet?   Or, do you sometimes eat a diet that is high in sodium, and that could cause your body to absorb a lot of water.  And how much do you weigh?   A person of substantial weight can could absorb more liquid into the body tissue.   And alternatively, how active are you?   If you are really active on some days, you could lose a lot of moisture through sweating and heavy breathing.

Hello, Glenn! I don't have any diet, however I don't eat much, but it was always like that.

My weight is not much, only 155 lbs (about 70 kg), height 6'0 (about 184 cm).

I don't do any sports, so I would count that as I'm not so active and almost don't sweat at all. Breathing is normal.

      Thank you!

after reading all your symptoms, one would assume that it would be a issue with your urinary system. However the one symptom that doesn't add up is a heavy feeling in your upper abdomen. As people with urinary issues usually have a discomfort or heavy feeling in their lower abdomen due to it being the location of the urinary organs. It might be a good idea to explore the idea that there may be a gastrointestinal issue, such as fecal impaction or constipation, that is indirectly causing pressure on the urethra and preventing urine to be released normally. The best way to rule that out would be to get a digital rectal examination or abdominal x ray. What tests have you had done? you should get a bladder and kidney ultrasound and have your post void residual tested to look for urinary retention. If you don't have any fecal impaction/constipation and your post void residual is normal, it could be a case of prostatitis, which is the inflammation of the prostate gland or neurogenic bladder, which can be diagnosed by urodynamic studies. For the time being, try eating a high fiber diet, drink plenty of water, and try to avoid bladder irritants such as caffeine, alcohol and spicy foods and see how your fare, until you can get a specialist appointment or these tests done.

Hello, Praj!  Yes, there is almost no discomfort in lower abdomen, only in the upper one and that is really strange. I would like to add that often I hear fluid sounds inside stomach, like there is some water splashing or something like that. But it was like that many times before I started to have this problem, so I don't think about that much.

Going to toilet for ''big'' is not a problem. Only problem with urination. When last time I was visiting doctor, he checked my bladder, there was some fluid and I go to toilet, was urinating not much, but after that doctor checked my bladder again and it was empty, so I don't think it could be urinary retention, also other results are good.

I'm just out of words, so much information around, but I can't find someone who having these kind of symptoms and tests showing no problem with urinary system. Strange!

      Thank you!
