Really weird, random and mostly unexplainable thoughts before falling asleep

Hello, I've recently found out it have anxiety and have been dealing with it sometimes better than others. I know most of the answers I was seeking but one I still have no idea if its the anxiety or if it's normal are the weird thoughts before falling asleep! And it scares me because of how random they are.. They will literally make no sense at all.. For example all of a sudden I'll be in a conversation with a friend talking about the most random thing and go from that to thinking of things that don't even make sense! It just makes me feel like I'm loosing my mind even more! Any help would be very much appreciated!

A little background - I'm 20, I'm a guy, I'm at uni, had signs and symptoms of anxiety for 2 months now and never had any issues in the past! Thank you!

    Hi

    Charlie

Just wanted to say my daughter is in the same place as you at the moment...and really struggling !

She has no issues in the past either.

She went to student Welfare to chat about it and is now seeing someone this week at Uni. to talk things over..a professional.

I think it is stress but I advised her to go and talk to someone who has an understanding and can help her.

It's not a good experience and you need to get it sorted soon.

    Hope that helps.

Hi jinny, thanks very much for your reply! I have been to a few counselling sessions and it helped a great amount, unfortunately I think it takes longer than just a few sessions to rid this! I was just wondering if this was a normal symptom of anxiety as I forgot to mention it to the counsellor!

Thanks again and I hope your daughter makes a swift recovery

      Hi Charlie

Rest assured that poor concentration and random thoughts all are classic symptoms of anxiety. You're not losing your mind so don't worry about that. Kudos to you for getting counseling!

      Best of luck!

Hi Charlie again. I am certain, like you, My daughter has strength of character to sort things out one way or the other. It must feel like finding a needle in a haystack😊🐭

Be sure to follow up if the counselling doesn't work... she went to the counselling service to find out which professional to go and see ...not to have counselling. Be careful .... it may not be about anything nasty...but more about deducing the correct root of the problem. Conditions do not necessarily play a role in your symptoms. In other words,,,, don't be fobbed off !!!! You are not a number...you are one very special, unique person and you have a wonderful future ahead of us. Please remember that...affirm that to yourself every day, particularly when you are feeling the way you are at the moment.

All the best Charlie and I wish you every success in your Career at Uni. I always say to my daughter.....you have made so many friends at Uni and throughout your short life....many of them will be your support and probably solve many of your issues...just by being that sounding board. Time to become more transparent maybe ?

Good friends are hard to find but my, are they worth their weight in gold💞💞💞

      Good luck

      Jinny
