Really worried.

So...i've been dating this guy for a few months. We see each other somewhat often (like every week/every other week). I do shave and last thursday I shaved pretty sloppily. Last thursday we also decided to try anal. I really didn't like it because the lube burned so bad, the act itself just generally hurt as well. So we cleaned up and proceeded on with having sex. Sunday night/Monday morning I had some itching , that yeasty smell & discharge and slight burning when peeing . I had an extra fluconazole box (from previous yeast infection due to antibiotics a few months ago) and itching has subsided since then. I have less discharge as well. However, i noticed some ulcer/sore like lesions on my vagina and anal area on Tuesday. I've been so worried since then. He also gives oral in my anal area so i initially thought it was from that and the roughness of his beard considering that i shaved so badly a few hours prior. The burning with peeing is still there but is not as severe as it was on Tuesday and Wednesday. I did notice some lymph node tenderness on Thursday and still have it a bit today but its much better. It didn't make it better when i went to urgent care today and the doctor didn't even examine me and just told me to put Neosporin on the sores so im really upset and ive been crying on and off all day. The symptoms i have right now is: slight burning when urinating, sharp pain when pooping, and tender groin lymph nodes. I hope i can get to the primary care doc on Monday to get testing and a swab but I'm really trying to he optimistic but...it doesnt look good.

another update:
Currently in the urgent care office. Got an examination and she swabbed for herpes (generally got a full STD panel). She said the sores are what you would usually see from a herpes outbreak so 😕 Nothing i didn't expect her to say. She's prescribing doxycycline and a shot of ceftriaxone as a 'just in case'. I'm also starting valacyclovir. Will update when i get my results back, i just want the pain to go away at this point.

hey girl. I was recently in the same predicament. I started seeing a new man. Really enjoyed eachother, seeing and having sex almost twice a week. A week break since weve had sex and I shaved and then all the sudden I got some small sores ive never had before. they didnt look like anything maybe a cut. they burned when I peed, I began to get nervous so i made myself an appointment. at the appointment i mentioned the sores and exactly what happen to my doctor, she took a look and swabbed. she then told me it looked like herpes. I broke down terribly. I had to wait on my redults. I just got them today and sadly it is herpes. I am terribly saddened but after reading these post I know im not alone. Youre not either. Go get tested, and i wish you the best.

Hi, thanks for replying. I'm really sorry to hear that and hopefully you feel better soon. I'm hoping I can go get tested today since my urgent care visit yesterday wasn't all that useful. I've kinda come to terms that the chances i don't have it are super low , it's just really overwhelming and I'm super sad about this situation.

I was recently diagnosed with HSV1 on my genitals. I was devastated when I found out, but the emotional impact it has on us is way worse than the virus itself. Millions of people have it and don't even know it because they don't have symptoms, so they go on with their lives and unknowingly pass on the virus to someone else who could end up having an outbreak (like me). The number of recurrent outbreaks vary depending on a person's immune system so eating better and exercising could possibly prevent them or at least help with the severity. Also make sure to let your partner know if you do test positive, but he should still get tested whether or not he has symptoms. If the results come back positive, don't let it bring you down, sweetie. It's just an inconvenient skin condition that shows up every once in awhile, and if you do feel pain and discomfort during an outbreak, there are medications that help speed up the healing process and they work amazingly. There are also podcasts, forums, chat rooms and therapy to help with your mental health for people that are trying to cope with a recent positive diagnosis, and these have helped me tremendously. I hope the results come back negative for you, hun, but if not, always remember that you are not alone in this and this doesn't change who you are as a person. You're still as awesome as ever 😃 Best wishes to you, girl ❤️
