Really worried about appendicitis..

So I was diagnosed roughly a month ago with post infectious IBS. Was getting bad pains mainly tucked under my right rib, Bloating, loose stools. 

Now, yesterday-36 hours or so ago I started noticing a kind of burning, tingling pain a bit lower down next to my hip (where I assume my appendix to be). I'm almost certain I've had this pain before in the same position over the month but it's a very different pain to the 'stitch' like pain I originally had under my rib. It's very tender to the touch and kind of hurts/burns when I touch it, but it's quite a nails pain. It sometimes randomly  throbs from time to time. 

Worried of the worst and being a bad anxiety sufferer I immediately went to A&E and the doctor took my temperature, blood pressure which was normal.

He touched over my abdomen/appendix area and used a stethoscope to listen to it and he said all that was fine. 

He said my appendix seemed fine but this pain is really worrying me now. 

I would love to hear anyone else's opinion on this. Am I just being silly here and this is just my IBS?

    I've also got quite a loss of appetite but no idea if this is related as I've had a terrible appetite since the IBS started.

    I can't believe you have written this as I have EXACTLY the same symptoms going on right now. Like exactly the same. They told me no appendicitis, bloods clear, had a pelvic scan and all clear (I have PCOS which is a common condition in women but nothing sinister) and the doctor keeps telling me it's nothing serious but the pain won't go away!! What the hell is it! Do you think it's a virus?

      I have no idea what it is. Had blood, urine, fecal testa and they all come back normal. It's just really frustrating as no-one seems to understand and it really disturbs day to day living. Do you have the exact same 'near hip' pains too then?

      yep, in my right hip and going round into flank, sometimes a stitch below my ribcage and sometimes its just in my side. sometimes (rarely) it goes into my left side. The doctor told me it could be kidney stones but I just don't think it is. I've had all my blood cleared for things like cancer so I'm not worried that it's something serious but I would like to know what it is!! I've got no appetite either. Seems weird I've read about 4 posts on here all saying a similar thing - therefore it could be viral, there's a lot of nasty stuff going round out there!!

    I have exactly the same as you both almost identical, although its not nice it is nice to know others are going through the same thing and puts my mind at rest that maybe it isnt anything other than INS if we all have the same!

      I think so, I've been like it for a few weeks and have not worsened, which is promising. I have good days/bad days, which would indicate IBS.

      I've had an x-ray of my right side and get my results on the 2nd Jan, so will update here when I recieve them.

    if you are thinking this an IBS issue then you can start using diet and exercise therapy. You need to drink 3 to 4 liters of water daily every after one Hour. Do 20 minutes walk daily. Do consume probiotic capsules daily to reduce this issue.
