Reassurance

9 weeks tomorrow, once again, I have been sleeping great but this morning I woke up at 4 and have been tossing and turning since. I keep moving my feet and toes, kinda sweating (not majorly) and my chest feels like there is pressure and tightness. Is it normal to still feeling morning anxiety?

All quite usual!  By the way has anyone said Welcome to The Club!  Yet?  If not there tis!

Yes all you have listed is usual for being on Cita (here in UK) or Celexa as you say (North America?) and anxiety comes and goes when it likes.  Cita causes anxiety to be able to treat it and I didn't think I had a problem with it, but obviously it was one of several things this sticking plaster for the brain needed to fix to get me on the road to recovery.

All this is a pain Kayleigh, but it does show that Celexa is working and gradually working on those parts of your brain that need repairing.

Just try and go with the flow until one day, when ever that may be (it isn't a quick fix) you can grab the oars with both hands and be in control of your own destiny.

Have to thought about changing the time you take yours?  It sometimes helps.  I initially took mine in the morning, but after multiple and vivid dreams every night and a cry for help here, it was suggested I take it at bedtime so, I did.  The dreams went back to what they usually were and I believe while I slept Cita was able to work on a resting mind and body.  I had moved taking up from breakfast to bedtime over a week and it worked for me.

Every thing we do to help ourselves is self driven.  We can ask and read about symptoms and remedies however, at the end of the day we must try it for ourselves and sometimes what is good for one may not be good for us.  What we can do for you, as was and is done for me, is give you all the support you need.  You are not alone!

Here's hoping you have a good day!

      Hi David

What do you mean cit causes anxiety to be able to treat it ?

It was something said to me by many people when I was going through full blown anxiety and panic attacks, when I didn't think I was suffering from anxiety or panic attacks, but I was.  Little did I know or realise that so much was happening to me as I crashed with work related stress.

Whether, people meant it causes, like starts it off or causes what is there to be hightened to then be able to repair the damage I don't know.  All I know is it happened to me and I accepted what I was told and it help me put things into perspective instead of thinking I was losing my mind.

      Hope yer weekend was nice.

      Hi David

I see how that could work.

Unfortunately I endedup in the hospital with dehydration from gastroenteritis. Unsurprisingly I have felt dreadful since then. Today my anxiety has been unbearable. I ve been questioning if I can take much more. Trying to remember last week was a bit better. My partner has had to stay home to help with my son as I have been so anxious and down. I am getting daily tension headaches.

I ve been on 20mg for 3 weeks now. Nearly 20 weeks on cit. How can I feel so bad ?

Sorry to hear you are having a bad time.  I think perhaps you should think about increasing, as I said it is about finding our own personal level.  Twenty weeks is not long in the sceme of things for most that take Cita, I was at the 5/6 month mark when I was levelling out.  Because the way you've been advised to take Cita has not helped therefore, I think an increase to 30mg may be needed just to get you over this hump of horridness at see what needs to be done next.

Just remember that, unfortunately, your mind and body does need to adjust and settle to the med.

Other complaints, like the gastro will not help matters one bit so, all in all increase adjust and level, but do not count out increasing again.

It is really good news that your partner has taken time off to help, but we know that can't go on too long and maybe another Family member, who hopefully understands a little about these illnesses could 'pop in' give you a hand.  Make it a coffee morning type of thing.  Positive thoughts no matter how bad it feels, do help.  Try to plan your day in a positive way leave out anything that may bring you down, like TV, mind you, feel good fiction programmes and films can help, music especially.

Do you know that many of us have gotten to the point where we think it is hard to cope when, little improvements begin to happen and when they do cling on to and build on them.  You have begun a lovely Family now, that is a positive place to start!

Keep calm and relaxed the best you can, it will get easier and better, because we have all been there in our own ways.

      Regards and keep posting.

    Hello.

If your bedroom or bed is to warm  that can cause problems, and we become unsettled. The bedroom should not be cold, just warm, in fact the beroom should be one of the coolest rooms in the house. so you can sleep. If you are too warm with to many blankets you may not be able to settle.

There is no reason why you should not feel anxious in bed especially if you are suffering above sensations

    Kayleigh,

You just described my morning to perfection. I think it is normal. I talk.5mg of lorazepam to help during those moments.

You have been on 9 weeks with the same dose? What dose?

When did you start to see a difference

1 week on 10mg and 8 weeks today on 20mg. Good and bad days. Mostly sleep is my problem. I am up at 3am and 4am tossing and turning which causes my morning anxiety. I am trying to take it tonight later to see if it makes a difference.
