Receiving B12 injections but still tired

Hi,
I was diagnosed with a B12 deficiency about 5 years ago and have since been receiving injections every 12 weeks. I have always struggled with tiredness, and thought receiving the B12 injections would solve this. I am still feel very tired, often needing to go to bed straight after work and sleeping through the night. I rely on the weekends to catch up on sleep as well - meaning i don't like to plan much on my days off.
Has anyone else experienced this? Could there be another reason for me being tired all the time?

Hi Eleanor133
I have been getting B12 injections every 12wks for the last 15yrs. I normally feel when 2wks away from getting (wk10) constant yawning, just no energy but I cope till I get injection, then normally within a day I feel great. But not this time which is really odd, I received b12 injection will be 4wks ago this Friday and I feel as if I didn't actually get it. Constant yawning very lifeless and energy totally zapped. I had bloot tests done, thyroid, kidneys, b12 levels, cholesterol, folic acid etc were all normal. Doctor said my b12 levels were showing 1300 level, not sure what that means. My folic acid levels were 19.5. The only thing that has changed was I received my 2 covid jags and I had a psoriasis flare up only on arm I got both covid jags in.
So today I went to chemist and I bought 2 big bottles of metatone tonic.
I don't know anyone else who has B12 near where I live to ask how their feeling.

Either the medication injections are not working or there is some other reason as to why you feel tired even after having injections. You needs to assess the triggers to your tiredness issue.

hi, i had my last dosing jab on 19th April and require one every 3 months thereafter. Just had my first 3 month 'top up' on 19th July. Still have a feeling of weak legs, although i can walk fine. Strange sensation in the hands too, difficult to describe. Have i benefited ? I'm not sure as i dont know how long these things take to get right. I appreciate that B12 affects the nervous system and nerves are a funny thing

Once you have vitamin B12 deficiency the damage it causes is irreversible.
