Recent ankle breakage and surgery

Hi everyone, saddened to be here after having broken my ankle in 3 places. Had surgery adding plates and screws 2 and half weeks ago.
Firstly I'm angry as most of the information. I needed I gathered from your posts and not the professionals who pretty much couldn't answer my questions. So thank you all for posting.
This situation is proving to be a bit of nightmare not only the pain and discomfort but the mental challenge it's posing. Pretty much crying everyday trying to find a way to be strong and get through this. And it seems the nightmare just keeps on giving. Went to my first clinic yesterday with absolutley no idea of what to expect. What I didn't expect was for them to try and put my foot back to a 90 degree ankle. Needless to say my brain was not having any of it. Whilst I don't think the pain was that bad in comparison, it was more the brain not being prepared for it, although I did have a dream the night before that a sadistic doctor was pushing my foot around..so maybe a premonition 😳🙄. So they got it some ways up and I probably have about another couple of inches to go.
So now I feel pretty scared that I won't be able to get it up to 90 degrees on top of all my other worries. I feel scared all the time now and this coming from a women That is pretty strong, Independent and not really fearful in usual circumstances. I feel so weak, dependent and pathetic
My heart goes out to all going through this.. 💜

hi sorry to hear about your break. i broke my ankle in one place and was told id need surgery. i have managed to avoid surgery for the moment i hope and being treated conservatively. when i first did it the Dr manipulated it into place with gas and air. in cast now for 3.5 weeks. go back on 26 jul and hoping i can progress to the boot. it has been very emotional and i cant do much. i am glad to be 3.5 weeks in rather than one day so you shoukd be proud youve made it this far. time will heal it and i hear patience is the key. keep in touch re progress.

Hi Lovvers
Thanks for your reply, sorry to hear about your break as well. Yes your right 3. 5 is better than day one so got to live day by day instead of predicting future. Its just blooming hard work.
Wish my doc had given me gas and air 🙄
Take care and keep in touch

im so sorry youre going through this! I had a tib, fib, break and needed two plates and 15 screws. I was NWB for 6 weeks and it was incredibly depressing. Just know you are not alone! This forum helped me feel better at different stages.
