Recent Detached Retina surgery

Good afternoon all,

New user to the forum.

Approximately 4 weeks ago I suffered a sport injury which resulted in blurred vision affecting one eye; blurred vision including what looked like thousands of black dots falling across my field of vision and static floaters at the top of my field of vision - which was understood to be from the damage to the back and bottom of my eyeball.

Fast forward two weeks from then; after various hospital appointments and seeing Ophthalmologists - it was assessed that I likely had a detached retina or retinal tear - from there I was booked in for surgery.

I had surgery approximately twelve days ago - I had the Scleral Buckle/Silicone sponge and am still in the recovery process which so far (touch wood) appears to be going well.

However; I'm still noticing i have the static floaters at the top of my field of vision - I've got a follow up 3 week post Op appointment coming up soon and whilst I'd never substitute the internet for advice; I was just wondering if others have had something similar/and or is this part of the healing process or or could this he a sign of further damage or simply its scar tissue and will be a permanent addition to my vision.

Lots of questions for which I apologise!

Thanks for all your help!
