I have also been diagnosed with this on friday!! I feel exactly the same as you!

I went to the doctors and they done blood test what came back positive for pcos, its normall to feel scared, I am being reffered for a ultrasound scan to see how things are!

ive done lots of research online every symptom I have i google to make sure its normal with pcos! People say dont worry but it is easier said then done!

Have you had any tests to confirm its pcos?

Hi, yes I had been having a lot of pain etc for over a year, so they referred me for ultrasound scans which I had today, which confirmed this for me. I now have to go to my doctor next week and get bloods etc, so the other way around to you by the sounds of it, like you said it is a lot easier said than done, I haven't stopped googling it and reading up about it, I don't even know how to explain all of this to anyone or what to think x

I dont no what to make of it either, they said they cant give me any meds untill i have the ultrasound.

What sort of pain do you get?

It causes me to have really bad anxiety too worse at night. Its hard to explain it to people because they dont no how u feel! im the same and people say dont google it etc but i feel like i have to, just to put my mind at ease x

I had been getting excruciating pain in my stomach near where my ovaries are, they tested me for everything but anything to do with my ovaries, I hadn't thought about it until my doctor thought about cysts and refered me for the scans, yes I'm the same I've been told j shouldn't Google it as it makes it all sound a lot worse than it is, but I felt that by googling it I found out every detail that I thought I needed to know, which is another reason I came here because hearing about it from real PCOS suffers would help more than hearing it from a doctor x

yeah i get severe pain in my stomach near my ovaries too, and pain in my back and now again bloated feeling. at least you can put your mind at ease now you no what it is, When i was diagnosed on friday i felt relief that i no what it is but then My head was all over the place not nowing whats going to happen next, All sort of thoughts are going through my mind like having kids etc at the moment think the best thing we can do is keep positive! Its quiet common these days and im sure the doctors will be able to give us something to help with it x

Hi Becca. I am 26 and have recently had a diagnosis too. My bloods were pretty normal but my scan confirmed it so I've been given it as a diagnosis. It's completely normal to worry about it but I think there are many ways to work around stuff and as you'll find out, babies are not impossible. I've started a blog at to empty my thoughts onto. As you can see, I have the same worries as you. My next post is going to be about some of the research I've done so stay tuned and keep positive. Pcos doesn't have to define you smile

    Hi becca,

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was about 15 (I don't remember exactly) and I'm 20 now. I have also had type 1 diabetes since I was 4 years old.  I know you feel scared about what to expect, but I promise everything is going to be okay.  I take metformin everyday (two little pills at dinner time), which is supposed to help balance out my hormones.  Ever since, I have had regular menstrual cycles and feel completely normal!

With PCOS you can have children just like everyone else! If PCOS is untreated, getting pregnant may be more difficult, but not impossible.  My medication actually increases my fertility, and it means I have to be extra careful when it comes to sex.

There are many diffirenet medications to treat PCOS.  Even some birth controls do the same thing. You just have to talk to your doctor and find the best treatment for you! Taking my medication has become such a routine that I usually completely forget it even have PCOS! I know the diagnosis sounds scary, but I promise that there are so many girls out there just like you and that you will have a normal life smile
