I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was about 15 (I don't remember exactly) and I'm 20 now. I have also had type 1 diabetes since I was 4 years old. I know you feel scared about what to expect, but I promise everything is going to be okay. I take metformin everyday (two little pills at dinner time), which is supposed to help balance out my hormones. Ever since, I have had regular menstrual cycles and feel completely normal!
With PCOS you can have children just like everyone else! If PCOS is untreated, getting pregnant may be more difficult, but not impossible. My medication actually increases my fertility, and it means I have to be extra careful when it comes to sex.
There are many diffirenet medications to treat PCOS. Even some birth controls do the same thing. You just have to talk to your doctor and find the best treatment for you! Taking my medication has become such a routine that I usually completely forget it even have PCOS! I know the diagnosis sounds scary, but I promise that there are so many girls out there just like you and that you will have a normal life
