Hi Steve,
l had my knee joint replaced 4 days ago. The first 3 days were very painful 😢 but when I woke up on the morning of the 3rd day the pain was about half of what it had been.
I injured the new knee a bit during the 2nd day and again today -- the 4th day, it's a bit scary looking right now but not as painful as the first 3 days.
( docs on YouTube said surgery day is day zero)
knee replacement seems so common I hadn't given it as much cause of pain as I should have.
I agree, take meds as directed by your surgeon, keep your foot elevated to keep knee straight and ice, ice ice, exercise as advised by doc's office.
best wishes, Lisa20011

Hi,
Totally normal, I had both of mine done 2 years ago, and still recall the agony. It is reputed to be the most painful of all surgeries. Tantamount to having someone break your leg then asking you to walk on it ! However, it really was worth it for me in the end. Follow the exercise routine and ice regularly and it improves really well (recommend a cryo-cuff for the icing). Good luck,
