I have had LP for 8 months but only been diagnosed by a dermatologist for 8 weeks. Prior to this I was told I had gutton psoriasis and excema and all sorts. Was given loads of different creams but none of them were successful. By the time i finally got my first appointment with specialist my body, legs and arms was covered. he only looked at and diagnosed me with severe LP and put me on a course of steroids and antibiotics which did work and the itching stopped and no new spots came until I finished the 8 week course. i now have the odd one breaking out which is being treated with steroid cream, but the marks left all over me still look horrendous. I have been trying to fing out more about this disease because i had nevr heard of it or know anyone who has it. if anyone could give me any useful information about this i would be very grateful

For Cutaneous LP, I am trying a scar-reducing cream that I bought over the counter. Otherwise, I am starting to dress more conservatively, which I tend to do anyway. Turtlenecks, long sleeves, higher cut Sweatshirts, big sunglasses, etc. (Mine is chest, throat, shoulders, neck, scalp, ears & unfortunately face sometimes.).

I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago but have had it for about 5 months. I wasnt prescribed an antibiotic, which one were you given? Iam a master Esthetician of skin and this has devasted me emotional and I am completely stressed. I hope this goes away, the scarring is awful!

I have not been prescribed an antibiotic However, if that were deemed appropriate, I know what I would use but, so many of my posts have been deleted by the Warlords of this Site, I am afraid to tell you which one. I have had great suggestions for all of you but they have mentioned specific products because there is only one version. The posts were deleted. I had even researched how you could get it in the U.K. and Australia for as cheaply as possible from U.S. And it doesn't require a prescription. I did NOT realize it was homeopathic when I had my pharmacy order it in. I just knew it was an old timely med my dad used on me when I was young with tonsilitis. So, if I my MD recommended an antibiotic I would probably take one that is available in all 3 countries and is a synthetic sibling to an antibiotic that was originally made from the bark of a tree in South America and used to fight a disease spread by mosquitoes. There! Let's see if that gets deleted !!
