Could use some help please.  What is a good moisturizer?  Does anyone use coconut oil?  Is there something better out there without a prescription?

    Hi

I have found E45 cream works for me it's not greasy, has very little scent and keeps the area moisturiser without irritation. 😊

Yes, I use organic coconut oil - usually overnight as it is extremely greasy and will mark your clothes. I find it very good. Also use Emuaid, castor oil mixed with lavender oil, calendula nappy cream, epaderm for washing with and I swab with Borax solution from time to time. All this as well as steroid Betnovate on prescription for maintenance and  when flaring.

Everyone will tell you it's important to vary what you use as LS will 'get used' to products and then they no longer work. Good luck.

I use Yes it’s available via prescription in uk now or on their website or Amazon and e bay, I haven’t reacted to it all, it’s all natural is the moisturiser not the lubricant though.

I use  a high grade coconut oil or a product called YES VM (see Amazon to order) The coconut oil is going to leave an oily residue on your undies, and maybe go through to your slacks....the YES VM is water based and does not.   Wearing a light day pad irritated my skin and made matters worse.   Usually when you are first diagnosed, a cortizone cream or ointment is prescribed and used as directed initially by the Dr.   Then one or twice during the week after things settle down.   The

When I was in a flare I used Emuaid and Emuaid Maxx for itching, pain, inflammation and to soothe. Now that all is calm I just use a moisture barrier ointment with Vit A, D, E from Medline ( I bought on Amazon). If I feel a tingle or a little itch ( usually from something I ate) I put a dab of Emuaid or Terrasil or Creme Complete on it and it goes away.

I am nott as savvy as many ladies on here who mix their own concoctions, and alot of it is trial and error to see what woeks best for you (for instance I am allergic to Lavender ).

    Good luck to you!

    Hi dd

Welcome to the forum. There are so many options that you will find on this site so try not to be overwhelmed. What works for some doesn't work for others. I do not work and am fortunate enough to be able to go without underwear 90% of the time, and wear a lot of sun dresses as I am in Florida so weather allows it. I only use Ivory soap because it's gentle and I no adverse reactions. I use a mixture of castor/lavendar/coconut oil the majority of the time. I've used olive oil and emu oil. If I get an itchy spot I apply witch hazel to the area and it normally takes care of it. I have the Clob (steroid cream) but dont use it as I find it more irritating than helpful. A lot of people are using a spray of bicarb with water as well as a solution of borax and water to help with white patches and unfusing. You will learn a lot from everyone here. Best of luck! 😁😘

I was told by my vulvar specialist to us Crisco shortening and apply rx Triamcinolone periodically. I have been diagnosed for 23 years with very few issues until menopause. Slight fusing and painful intercourse is what got me to the specialist. The moisturizing does add comfort. Crisco seems to work better than the olive oil as far as the olive oil breaks down quicker with the body temp., a bit less messy. I have purchased some small glass jars to keep in the bathroom for applications morning and night. Using hypoallergenic soaps. The Crisco can also be used as lubricant for intercourse.

HI DD, as other have said it take suing several different topicals and to rotate them as you feel.  My newest discovery that for now beats out all the rest is ALOE VERA GEL mixed with tumeric essential oil at about one Tablespoon to 4 drops or more of the oil.  What i have come to love about the aloe is that as a gel it is very cooling and not messy. organic virgin coconut oil is nice a liquidy and good for our vulva; castor oil is more tacky and good near the bottom and anus but is still messy. the Aloe as a gel massages in.

I am using organic coconut oil for moisturizer and as lubarcate for sex. I too use it at night and minimally during day as it is greasy. I find it doesn't sting or irritate the vagina like most lubarcants.
