Recently diagnosed with spondylolisthesis grade 1 L5 S1

Hi guys. I have recently been diagnosed with spondylolisthesis grade 1, L5 and S1. When I was 14 and heavily involved in gymnastics and cheerleading I was told I had spondylosis. I am now 21 years old and my condition has progressed (doctor said this was normal for those who develop spondylosis in their early teens). Anyways, my husband and I are planning to start trying for our first child this July and I was just wondering if any of you who have spondy and have had children could share your personal experiences with me. Doctor said I should be fine, that it shouldn't cause additional slippage or any pain other than normal back pain associated with pregnancy as I have never experienced any pain from my condition. I am also concerned with whether or not I will be able to pick my child up, whether or not I will be able to have the natural water birth that I am hoping for, I'm just nervous about all of this. Thanks in advance for listening and taking the time to respond

xoxo

I had my son at 22 at first the pregnancy wasn't so bad , but towards the end I was crippled with pain, it didn't make anything worse except the pain . But it was worth it .

Thanks so much for responding jessica!! That makes me feel much better. As much as my doctor's reassurance helped, it's much nicer to hear it from someone who has actually been through it.. Thanks!
