Recently diagnosed with Twisted colon due to scar tissue from hysterectomy. Anyone else experiencing

I had colonoscopy earlier this week, however doctor couldn't complete it because my colon is twisted. He said there is too much scar tissue, it was also really painful for me so he stopped. He later said i should return in a couple if months to do an enema. My concern is why wouldn't he have me return right away to do the enema. Everything I've read about a twisted colon seems to be extremely serious and/or fatal. Anyone else going through this?
