Hi, I have been unwell since christmas and I am undergoing investigations in to cause. My gp does not think it is anything serious, however when my symptoms flare up, so too does my anxiety. A feeling of panic, sweaty, palpitations and vomiting/headache!! It's such an awful feeling as I just wsnt to stay in bed and hide under the covers.

It sounds like one of the many many symptoms related to anxiety.

There is no rhyme or reason to it and it can floor you.

Exercise and meditation as well as a good diet are good options

Distracting yourself when an attack comes on helps a lot

    Anxiety feed of fear

Medication and therapy are options they wont cure it but it helps control it and you learn how to cope with it

    Stay Stronglol

Thanks for your advice Lynn. It is so scary when it happens. Your right, it's about trying to manage your symptoms I guess. I have discussed my anxiety with my gp and we both agree that it is most certainly linked to my recent poor health and the fact that I'm not entirely sure what is exactly going on with regards to it. Because if this, I have decided to stay of medication until I have more of an idea what's going on.

I have been unwell since about that time too Sarah. I'm still searching for answers, but my GP tried to put me on anxiety meds and /or antidepressants. I tried to tell her I am not depressed, and if I do have anxiety, it's because I am sick, and no one can help me find the reason! She hasn't been a very great GP, so have an appointment with a different one. I did just receive blood work with a positive result on autoimmune disorder, so might finally be on to something.  Are you still seeing doctors for an answer for yourself? I think it wise for us to not take the anxiety meds right now, until we get the medical stuff sorted. Good luck to you, hope you find an answer.

Hey Debbie, I have been treated for umpteen urine infections, infection of the cervix, hormonal etc etc. I finally have a pre assessment on Tuesday for a laparoscopy but no date yet for actual procedure. It has just been ongoing and the slightest niggle now just causes anxiety. Sounds like you are going through a rough time too. I feel as though my life is totally on hold at the moment but really not keen to go down the medication route. Hope you get the answers you are looking for too.

I still have some sort of UTI right now, had it since last summer. My hormone test was positive that I am in peri/meno. What are you having the laparoscopy for? I have super bad medical anxiety over all this, it has been terrible! So sick, and I have lost 30 pounds! What are all your symptoms, if you don't mind giving them? Hoping we get answers soon!

I recently saw a gynae specialist and he is doing the scope to rule out endometriosis, cysts etc. I have also been referred to urology. I have been started on the contraceptive pill to also stop my time of the month as my symptoms seemed to be heightened around that time. I frequently have a feeling that a uti is about to start, pelvic pain also pain from Upper urethral area. I had hormone bloods taken but they are difficult to get an accurate result from as your levels are constantly changing. What are your symptoms Debbie?

I've also been started on IBS meds as apparently the bowel can often mimic urinary symptoms. (Something I wasn't aware of).

I have so many, chronic UTI is just one. Right now I have nausea/belly discomfort, no appetite, weight loss, been diagnosed with Gerd, so have digestive issues, esophagus issues, constipation/sometimes diarrhea, muscles in arms and legs hurt and are very weak/atrophy, pins and needles in extremities, and sometimes in different parts of my body, hot and cold all day and night, usually freezing hands and feet all the time, was having chest pains, have back pain, both upper and kidney area, and I had gallstones, which led me to have more gallbladder removed. It changes from day to day, but been having this since late last year. Have seen several doctors, have a bunch more to see, and just had blood work come back saying I am positive for autoimmune disorder of some kind. May be getting an answer soon, I hope.

Oh God Debbie, poor you. How old are you, if you don't mind me asking?? Were you healthy before all this started??

I have had lots of fainting since my symptoms started ( not sure if anxiety related or not). Tingling in hands. Gp has pretty much done what she can. She tried to admit me to hospital twice as I was having lots of sickness and don't do well on antibiotics but gynae said that i just needed to be seen as an outpatient.

I am 51, will be 52 in August. I think I was pretty healthy, having just had a check up in October 2015. I had and have high blood pressure, but am taking meds, which don't seem to be doing anything. Had the UTI, and have been on numerical antibiotics, which aren't working. It all seemed to come on at once, so not sure if its medical, menopausal, or a mixture. How old are you? I can't believe a doctor wants to admit you, and another doctor can say no! That is horrible! I'm in the US, by the way, and things not better here. When I originally went to the ER, I had chest pains and nausea mainly, and that's when they diagnosed me with Gerd and gallstones, and told me to follow up with a cardiologist, after giving me an ekg and monitor. Hospitals here only want to band aid you and send you to a specialist, and I have seen a bunch! It stinks!

I am 39, I have ended up in A&E (ER) loads of times in agony and as you say they just patch you up and send you on your way. They will deal with the pain but don't want to deal with anything else. I think you need a secret password to get a hospital bed.

I feel that my pain is definately bladder related but the urology waiting list is unbelievably long in the UK. It has such an effect on life as a whole. I have 2 young daughters and I feel they are missing out. I was such a happy go lucky bubbly person before all this!!

I have heart palpitations, bad nausea, no appetite, I've lost 25 pounds, I don't go anywhere but doc appointments and then my anxiety is so bad it's unbearable. My Paxil quit working last July and I've been like this since then. Do you take any meds? I can't stop my Paxil because I've been on it so long and have bad withdrawal.

Sounds like me. I am taking nexium for Gerd, and a beta blocker for high blood pressure and anxiety symptoms. Sometimes I will sneak in some natural supplements to help with gut issues and liver health, but I feel they make me sick , so take them sporadically. What are your doctors telling you?

Do you take any medication for your anxiety other than the beta blocker?
