i have been with my boyfriend now for a few months and when we got together he was very honest and told me he had herpes. To be honest at first i didnt know how to react , in a way i thought he was joking .I just didnt know of anybody with herpes , guess you just dont think about how many people must have it .He told me it was fine and he understood if i couldnt cope with it .I reasearched allot about it and i did stay with him .After all iam in love with him and it was a risk but he had respected me and told me and we used protection , he would tell me when he would have an outbreak too .However , a weekago i started to have flu like symptons so straight away my partner found symptons in females and we watched closely.I soon had a fever and the blisters , itching , and yellow discharge .My partner was extremely upset that i had managed to catch it after he tried to protect me so badly .we are now sticking together and helping one another through it .He has had it 7 years so doesnt get many symptons or suffer much .Iam in my first outbreak and i have to say this is the most painful thing i have ever experienced .I would much rather break a leg again haha .I cant sleep properly or walk properly.i feel smelly and discusting .I have taken days off sick and i work as a nursing assistant so is long 13 hr shifts that are unbearable when im trying to walk. And i do not wish to tell my work .Also 2 days ago i now have a very large infected finger that look like a big blister but wont pop , so iam on floxacilin for that but i do wonder if that is from the herpes too.

?so far i have tried paracetomal that doesnt touch it , i cant take ibrufon because iam on anti depressents , i have purhased aloe vera , this just makes me all sticky and the skin then gets attached and when pulls apart is very painful.Iam drying with a hairdryer down there , i have also purchused this 100% honey that is suppose to help kill the sores. This is the most painful thing and wont be applying again .I have hot bath , and constantly wear a sanatry towel because iam leaking so much .i have got zinc iam taking to build up my immune system and i found baby wipes help loads , could not wipe at all with tissue so baby wipes mean im gettig a proper clean .Oh and zinc cream just helps me to move around better like a lubricant.

?Has anyone else got any useful information or things i could try ?? my boyfriend is supporting me allot but is hard as when he has his kid on a weekend we would like to go out and run around , play games ect but is too painful for me .I feel iam missing out .please help me find a better pain relief , i really feel so depressed right now which doesnt help as iam on depressents anyway .I now take a citalopram , paracetomal every 4 hours , floxicilin every 6 , a zinc tablet a day.

?thankyou so much for reading .Hoping this will go soon

You should get yourself properly diagnosed (tested and typed) and get a prescription for (val)acyclovir, which is specifically for treating herpes. The sooner it's started, the better, otherwise it may have little effect. For topical pain relief, apply lidocaine cream. Ask your doctor, otherwise you ought to be able to buy it at any drugstore. Don't soak in hot water; soak in a small tub of warm water plus Epsom salts for several minutes once or twice daily. Zinc oxide cream can also provide relief. Those are some basic tips that typically help. Hang in there! The first outbreak is usually the worst by far.

The first outbreak is the worst. Make sure you have a course of aciclovir, i found amitriptyline amaazing for pain as it settles down the nerve endings which is where the virus lives. I wore a tampon during this first episode just to keep the area dry. Heaps of rest.

The antibiotics will help clear any other infections, but you may get thrush with this so just keep an eye out.
