Reconstruction of shoulder joint

Has anyone had this procedure? It's called a Superior Capsular Reconstruction of the shoulder. It's fairly new. I had the surgery 1 1/2 weeks ago and haven't been able to find much about the recovery. My doctor says full sling with that pillow thing (ugh) for 6 weeks and only then can I start PT. It's going to be a long road.

Hello there. I always look up things when I'm not sure what they are. Ask all the questions you can, and get any info you can. I'm having more surgery on my right shoulder to remove some scar tissue as soon as I get it approved. Please keep us informed on your decision. Wishing you the best!!

Hello , I was supposed to have the same operation on my left shoulder last year but it was cancelled as they have discovered that I have sleep apnoea and they said I need to sort this out first , ( although over the years I have had numerous surgery's) . I have had both my knees replaced and several shoulder operations the last one being a graft jacket on my right shoulder . How are you doing after your surgery , any signs of success yet ? kind regards , Mal .

This is my 4th shoulder surgery. 1 left, 3 right. I have to say this reconstruction has been the least painful. I am 2 weeks post op today. Haven't taken any pain pills beyond the 1st day. Doctor says recovery will be slow, up to 5 months of PT. So far, so good. I am very very optimistic this will be my last shoulder surgery
