Recovery after peroneus brevis tendon transfer and removal of base 5th metatarsal?

Hello- Im 8 weeks post op from a transfer of the peroneus brevis tendon after resection of the fifth metatarsal base. I had an old avulsion fracture that never healed and remained a non union. The piece was too small to reattach. Looking for anyone else who had had this done and what your recovery was like. Im having a lot of pain. I was in a hard cast NWB for 6 weeks and then WB boot for 2. The area hurts to touch, hurts to walk, and the pressure of a shoe on the incision site hurts. Hoping I will not need removal of hardware in the future but the screw looks huge on the xray Thx for any feedback!

ps- I forgot to mention that it basically feels like I’m walking on a rock. Is this inflammation or is this the hardware I’m feeling?
