Recovery after Pneumonia astham attack

Hello Everyone

I have asthma for years but it under control to a point that I hardly need medication(Seretide). Until I got bad Pneumonia last year. That the test told me my lung age is 90 years old. My age is 40 yr old.

Since then, my asthma is a lot worst. My doc change my med to Symbicort 200/400. Nowadays, I have to use it almost everyday. There is constant tight chest feeling but I can do exercise.

It doesn't make sense to me. That Pneumonia is almost a year ago. My doctor told me that normal because the pus can take months to get out but it's almost a year!!

Why my asthma is not back to normal before Pneumonia time?

Does Pneumonia permanently damage my lung?

Thank you for your time.

Hello. I had Pneumonia over the Xmas/New Year and was in hospital. No-one ever told me my lung age, how did you get this? ?  I am using Symbicort and Ventilan (Atrovent made me gain 14 lbs) and now really need them as I can hardly breathe without them, very annoying. I also use SALTPIPE. 5  months after the pneumonia  i am still not back to last years  "normal", and get very tired.

My doc gave me a test that you blow your lung out into tube and it will measure your lung volume.. My doc told em that my lung age is 90 yr old man. That's scare me, if I am 40 now, my lung age is 90s. What is the chance I have when I am 60 with Pneumonia.

the problem about Penumonia is like a flu. You can't tell the difference at the beginning, even Dr can't tell you the difference. Timing is so cruical in dealin with Penumonia >,< when u find out, if you find out is not a flu, you got to treat it a.s.a.p!!!

Don't know about Aloe Vera but right now, my asthma has mark improvement after I changed my med from Symbicort 200 to Seretide 250. It is still too early to tell rolleyes

Honey mix with hot water are good but I cant tell, is solely respond for my recovery. I think it helps.

Also friends' support really does matter. It give me the motivation to find a solution.

I was just hospitalized last week. I found out how ct scan that I've had pneumonia since last year. I lost 25 pounds and suffered an asthma attack. Due to a mistake from a previous ct scan, the pneumonia worsened. I don't know what to do and I'm constantly having flare-ups.
