Recovery from hysterectomy, anterior repair

I underwent a vaginal hysterectomy with anterior cystocele repair 13 weeks ago. It is the 2nd time I've had anterior repair, initially also had rectocele repair at same time 2 yrs ago which failed.
i returned to work after 10 weeks sick leave but am struggling with continued sensations underneath which are unpleasant when i have to stand or sit on a chair at the computer. i get a burning prickly sensation over my vulva and vaginal entrance with increased rectal pressure. my job is not too physically demanding as im a receptionist but it does involve cleaning duties every shift, hoovering, mopping, cleaning walls, doors, skirtings etc..which means bending down a lot...very uncomfortable. im worried i will undo the repair from surgery. can anyone give me reasurrance that im healed enough not to cause a further relapse? i still feel swollen inside. i can also feel a thread higher up on one side like a tight band? i havent yet managed to have penetrative sex as it feels too tight and tender. im also getting a heavy watery discharge sometimes pinkish ( blood stained). im trying to do my pelvic floor exercises 3 times day but mostly its twice a day. my hubby bought me an exercise static bike to help get my fitness back but im finding it too uncomfortable to sit on the seat still...5 minutes max.

Hi, I had the same op 20 months ago. I had the stinging burning you describe for about a year after the op but only on certain seats like the car seat and computer chair also when walking sometimes. I think it is the pudendal nerve pain people talk about on here. I also had the tight thread like feeling on one side for about a year too. This has gone completely now but I still get some nerve pain now and again but not as bad as before. As for bending, I try to avoid it where possible as it is just not comfortable, I feel it puts pressure on my pelvic floor.
You are still very early in your recovery I would say. I think you should be taking things easier still.
My op was not totally successful as I still have a grade 1 Cyctocele so am still uncomfortable. I was prescribed estrogen cream to use daily if needed and told to keep up the exercises. The cream does help to tighten things up and make it more comfortable.
A trip to your doctor might be helpful to put your mind at rest.

thank you anne57195, its reasurring to know there will be continued improvement with time. unfortunately i cannot use oestrogen products as ive had oestrogen positive breast cancer. i used to be on HRT to help relieve some of the prolapse symptoms but had to stop when diagnosed 3 yrs ago. i still have a mild rectocele which he didnt want to repair again as it would have been too much surgery and might have caused too much tightness. i try not to bend too much but its impossible when i have to clean as part of my job. thanks for your experience and advice.
i will make an appoint with my doctor in a few weeks if still bothering me.

hi shirley
I know it's easy to say but yiu are still healing.13 wks is still early days to be mopping, hovering etc.
bending and lifting can cause tissue to break off again.
I'd really try and limit this as yiu dont want to compromise your surgeons work.
look after yourself and lots of luckxx
