Rectal bleeding

Hello,

So exciting story, not really, but let's get to the point.  Like many of us I have seen blood on a tissue after a bowel movement, I never really gave that much thought to it. It seems to be caused by my overactive bowel. I have a bowel movement about four times a day. I have tried many home remedies and over the counter medication for piles and irritation, it never made that much of a difference. In the last week for a good few days there has been constantly bleeding after putting any pressure on my bum. Not a large amount but a noticeable amount. It has eventually stopped but now it seems that I have an external clot. I have never been to the doctor about any of my bum problems, I always just left them to resolve in their own time but this is something different then my "usual bum issues" and the clot is making me a bit worried. What should i do? Shall I just leave it and see what happens?
