Rectocele and cystocele appointment tomorrow but just start period?

Hi, I am due to see a consultant tomorrow regarding me having a rectocele and cystocele but I have just started to bleed. I have a mirena coil fitted and don't have regular periods. I'm worried if I don't attend tomorrow I will have to wait a long time for another appointment again. should I cancel it or do you think they will see me? I really don't know what to do! Does anyone have any advice?

    I am probably too late with advice but usually its advised to attend but tell the clinic nurse you are having a period. After all this is a gynaecological clinic and most patients can be expected to be having a period at some time if they are pre menopausal. It happens all the time

    The consultant can have a chat with you and take your history and get an idea of what is going on and then you can be booked to come back into the clinic as a follow up patient when you are sure there will be no period.
