Rectocele and cystocele repair surgery

I had rectocele and cystocele repair surgery a week ago. i began having severe sharp shooting pain on the back end where the rectocele was 5 days after surgery. my surgeon told me that there was a lot of reconstruction done because apparently my rectocele was pretty bad. I hear buttock pain is normal, how normal? I don't have a fever so I am hopeful it is not an infection. Can someone tell me if this is expected?

Thank you! I feel as if I am being repeatedly stabbed on that specific area and I was worried it might not be normal since I did not feel it the first few days.
