Hi everyone I had a minor vajinal posterior wall repair (rectocele) 12 days ago and day by day the pain is getting worse for me. I am really depressed at the moment. Its been 12 days and i am not able to pick up or look after my 12 months old thankfully my husband got holidays so he can take care of him. Its been very hard for me to sit and impossible for me to walk for more than 3 minutes. I hardely go to toilet as whenever i starts to walk my right side near the rectum and the stitches place start to hurt and at the same time i can't breath properly. I can't understand why is this happening as most people says that it's uncomfortable but not painful.not thinking straight right now. Anybody had this kind of experience or any advice please :'(😢

    Hi Rabia

A rectocele is a herniation (bulge) of the front wall of the rectum into the back wall of the vagina. Let's be frank, this is a sensitive area.

How very sad to be unable to care for your precious wee one. Rabia, do not measure your recovery by someone else's recovery...all herniations are not the same.

A blowup "donut" ring may help...don't fill it too full...sit on it a bit and adjust the amount of air to find the best comfort.

Eat foods which keep your stool on the soft side...not diarrhea...and drink plenty of fluids

Yes, I heard, it is difficult to walk...you can rent a bedside commode for a short time

Have your cute munchkin climb into bed next to you and sing and rub the back till sleep comes...that will give your hubby a break

Feed the baby...rather than thinking about what you cannot do, think of everything you can do.

Stay in touch...much better days are ahead of you

    kind regards
