not much but rest unfortunately. after 6 weeks you can do light duties but no lifting, bending or stretching high.x

By week four, you should be up and about, walking and doing light duties like dishes and even vacuuming (this can be done after week 2). Not spending enough time standing and walking will result in mis-formation of the scar tissue. The scar tissue will heal in a way that supports whatever activity you are doing. So, if you are lying down most of the time while healing, then the scar tissue is going to pull and hurt when you stand up. Manual therapy can resolve this and is generally safe to begin by 4 weeks because of the maturity of the scar tissue by that time. You should, of course, double check this with your physical/physio therapist. Walking regularly by four weeks (and even much sooner) is important for circulation, maintenance of muscle mass and proper scar tissue formation.

usually NHS dont give you one. I paid £40 to see one in my local town.

may be your gp will know a wonans physio.

once you can do your pelvic floors you will be able to do them yourself.

dont even do any till after post op.x

    hi Emma

uiu must remember that each consultant has there own advice.

I was told by my professor Urogynacologist of 30 years that no lady should be doing anything more than gentle walks each day,no vacuuming till at least 12 weeks as it puts too much pressure on your fragile tissues.

our body doesnt start to make strong scar tissue till after 12 weeks. if I was yiu I would really take ut easy.. as unfortunately these repairs have no guarantees for success and if yiur doing too much then your setting yourself up fir issues later on.

I really get round up when I read how some surgeon s say to return to normal duties at 6 weeks..

I've had a failure at 3 weeks and I o my rested and walked for first 6 weeks. I'm slim, age 47 then and healthy.

it's a big gamble these repairs work but all we can do us be gentle with ourselves in the early weeks.. it's too late when our tissues stretch and our organs drop again.

one chance of healing hu n so take it easy.

      hi Emma

it's very hard for me to be certain as I'm not a doctor but usually around 3 weeks the stitches start to knit together and can pull a lot.

best to get it checked by yiur consultant or doctor love. if you feel well in yourself then I'm sure ut everything healing together.
