Recurrance of sciatic pain

Posted , 29 users are following.

I had a lumbar discectomy (l5 s1) 7 weeks ago and to begin with everything was great. I've now been back at work for a week and the sciatic pain has come back down my left leg. I also have stinging pain at the op site and aches higher up my spine. Have I aggravated things by going back to work? Any advice gratefully received.

I had the exact same thing happen to me after my lumbar surgery 1 year ago, and I returned to work in 2 weeks.  WAY TO SOON!!  I was miserable, and had to take dilatin pain meds at work, and they sent me back home, due to making alot of mistakes on my work!

I would  like to get some feedback on this recurrence of sciatica. I am 8 weeks post op L4-L5 laminectomy and fusion. I was great for the first 3 weeks and was walking up to as much as 5 km per day. Then suddently my feet went numb and now I have recurring pins and needs and sciatica is starting to return.

Does anybodyt know what this means? Neurosurgeon has ruled our hardware dislodgement with X ray and MRI says no inflammation.
