few days ago i posted about having unprotected sex on Flagyl. So my BV came back, this will be my 4th time with BV & my doctor prescriped Flagyl antiobiotics again. Is there any other medication that will work for this? Or is there any home remedies that can work?
btw, i take probiotics daily &eat yogurt everyday.

Antibiotics kept making it worse for me. I have been on a raw/vegan diet with zero sugar, taking 2 cloves of garlic daily, 1 capsule of oil of oregano, high dose of vitamin C and a 50 million probiotic for vaginal health for 3 weeks now. It has helped SO much!! I would say I am 95% back to normal after having no releif for 11 months (and 7 rounds of antibiotics)! I am a firm believer that healing your gut and taking more of a natural approach is best. Best of luck!

Hi Sheila, a couple of days ago I posted this under the topic "Help Vaginal vitamin C and bleeding. I used Flagyl one time and started the Vitamin C treatment right after together with the Turmeric. Anyway this is what I wrote and really hope it will work for all of us.
"Just a quick note to everyone reading this. I have been using biological turmeric, ginger and pepper supplements for two month's now. There are studies that prove that turmeric works for BV because it reaches the biofilm of the bacteria. But it takes a lot of patience and time. After three month's it should have some result. Just wanted to share this for anyone interested and wants to look into the research about this. "

I had been getting bacterial vaginosis basically every month. Does anyone else think it is hormone related for them? I was keeping a diary of symptoms and they always seem to start after I ovulate around day 15 of my cycle. Also I stopped getting it entirely while I was pregnant.
Anyway I find taking a high dose of probiotics can help but since I started taking the combined oral contraceptive pill I haven't had any symptoms.

@Ruth1991 yes, I have felt like it is related to homones, but oral contraceptive didnt keep the symptoms away for me. Maybe I will start keeping a symptom diary too. Did you just track what days of the month you noticed issues?

while on antibiotics you definitely don't want to have sex or disturb the healing process. Unfortunately antibiotics wipe the good bacteria which leaves your vagina more prone to reinfection. You must restore good bacteria and this takes a little more work then trying a quick fix with antibiotics. Research and consult your doctor about probiotics, and restoring good bacteria.
