Recurrent/chronic BV and what worked for me

I have been dealing with recurrent BV for almost 10 years, I am 34 years old. I have tried all the medicine, I have tried several home remedies, I have tried probiotics, vitamins, oil, etc. Lets just say I've tried almost everything. About 6 months ago I asked my hormone specialist (they use more holistic treatments and have their own pharmacy) about my BV issue (not sure why I hadn't asked them sooner) and she instantly gave me a prescription for boric acid suppositories which they make at their pharmacy. It has been A LIFE CHANGER.

In all the research I have done over all these years I had never come across anything that mentioned boric acid suppositories. But when I started researching that specifically, I found several articles about the effectiveness of it and how it had been used as a remedy for YEARS. Anyway, for my first run I used it 7 nights in a row and now I use it about once a week because the symptoms still sneak back up but are nowhere near as bad as they use to be. And sometimes I can go a few weeks without even using it.

I felt compelled to tell my story because, like most women affected by BV, it is HUMILIATING and the thought of speaking to friends and even family about it is just horrifying. It is even difficult for me to speak to my own mother about it and she is my best friend. My husband has been understanding but it's still hard to talk to him about it. Anyway, do the research on boric acid suppositories because it may not be for everyone but when you reach a level of desperation like I have, you will try almost anything.

I would like to also add that I have a pretty healthy diet, I try to eat organic as much as possible. I rarely eat processed foods or sugar and exercise once to twice a week (not breaking any records there, I know ha) so I don't know how much diet has to do with it but it doesn't seem to matter what I do - my flora still gets out of balance.

I hope this helps other ladies out there who are struggling.

I have tried them and I was worried about the bleeding they seemed to cause and I read it can be fatal with any slight cuts in the skin you may not even know you have. Do you think I should be worried? Should I try them again? Some women use them once before bed then again in the morning for 7 days. What did you do?
