Recurring ear blockage GP unable to help

Over the past year I have had a recurring 2-3 month cycle of ear wax build up. I get the earwax removed by an audiologist and then use an olive spray in my ears (a product called Earol recommended by the audiologist) every other day to reduce the ear wax build up. However, within three months my ears are filled with wax to the extent that my hearing is impaired and need to be cleared once more. This cycle has happened three times in the past 11 months. I went to see a GP who is an ear specialist but he just told me to do what I am already doing and could not offer any further advice. As ear wax removal is not available on the NHS any more this is becoming quite expensive but hearing is worth it. I thought I would post here to see if anyone has any advice or comments as it seems that I am following advice but getting nowhere.

If anyone is reading this my problem has been resolved by ceasing to use olive oil and instead using 'ear calm' which is available in chemists. This cleared the wax within a day.
