Recurring Tongue problem

Hi,

I have been experiencing this problem with my tongue for the last 3 to 4 months.

I get a sharp burning sensation at the point of the indentation(pictured) on my tongue which lasts a couple of days and my tongue looks normal again after about a week.

There doesn't seem to be a pattern to the frequency but it doesn't seem to get any better and has happened twice this month. The indentation always seems to appear in the same place.

Any help would be much appreciated as I can't seem to find anything similar online. I haven't seen my GP as yet due to the current lockdown restrictions and mitigating risk.

    Hi Will

I'm kinda experiencing the same thing. Comes and goes but when it comes back its the same section that's red. Did you get any answers to what it was?

    Thanks

      Hi Jay,

No i never really got anywhere with it. I took a full sexual health screen but nothing came back positive. it seems to have calmed down recently but I'm still conscious its there.

I started using Corsodyl daily mouthwash which seems to have helped.

My Doctor has said it may be Geographic tongue but it doesn't look like a typical form of the condition to me.

I hope you can find an answer, let me know if you hear anything back.

      Cheers

      Will
