Recurring UTI - Advice Needed

Ive been having recurring UTI's since the beginning of the year. They sometimes spread to my kidney causing an infection. I get anti-biotics, usually a 7 day course, and within a couple of days of finishing them the infection comes back. Its worth mentioning that the antibiotics do get rid of the infection after a couple of days although I always finish the course as directed.
I was referred to a Urologist and had an ultra sound scan, xray and cycstoscopy - all were fine and revealed no problems apart from the ultra sound which showed one kidney enlarged. The urologist said that this was nothing and Id probably had it since birth. He sent me away and said everything is fine, your probably just going through a bad patch, go to the gp for more antibiotics if the infection returns.
The infection has returned, as I have now become used to. I will go back to the gp and get more antibiotics but I was wondering if anyone else has this?? is this to be my life for the next 40 or 50 years? there must be something that is causing the infection??
I drink lots of water and do everything else Im supposed to.

Ok now I've been going around commenting on everyone's post who have had countless UTI's because I have found something that works for me that no one else seems to be mentioning. FEMININE WASH!!!! In my case Summer's Eve Sensitive Skin. For six years I got UTI's 1-3x a month! My life was severely impacted by them and several times I had to miss exams because I was in too much pain. I went to several urologists, was on antibiotics all the time, ate cranberry pills daily, did the invasive tests, and nothing helped! Then in March of this year I just decided to get Summer's Eve and I haven't had one since then. There were times when I thought I was going to get one, but I never did!. I hope this simple product provides relief for you like it did for me.

When had investigation as why they found spina bifida occulta & abnormal brain waves. Then neurogenic bladder double ureters. The NHS considers SBO Low Priority so suspect now don't even diagnose as there are a lot of myths saying it does not cause problems . I & others know it does. Often fatal look at statistics. With the right treatment & patient orientated research I reckon we could extend our lives by 30 years.
