Red blotches on penis

Posted , 2 users are following.

hi im really worrying, i have been getting these red blotches on the head of my penis for months now, i have had all the STI tests done which all came back negative. i have also had a swab done for thrush which also came back negative. i have used various creams and it clears for a few days but reappears a few days later. any guesses as to what it might be?

Are you having regular unprotected penetrative sex or receive oral?

The photos suggest you have either a fungal or bacterial infection, depending on your sexual activities, if at all, you may have both.

Again depending on what you do sexually, you may need a combined antifungal and bacterial steroid - the one I am aware of is trimovate

i always have protective sex including oral, both protective. i tried different condoms incase it was a reaction to the condom or lubricant but that has not helped either

I suggest you get checked at a major sexual health centre - that way you have potential access to a broader range of specialists, if you are in the UK there are also GUM Clinics, again I would suggest a one based at a major general hospital in the region in which you live. Due to the virus situation it may be an idea to phone then first to make sure you can get an in-person appointment.

The alternative would be to see a Dermatologist

You can update your Forum post here once you have a potential diagnosis, or you have been given some medication - if you have already tried any medication you could mention this, but a GP will often direct you on how long they wish you to use a particularly medication, and in what way to use it.
