red bumps on my penis

hello,i had sex about 1 month ago and 4 days after sex i started noticing red bumps coming out on my penis,so i had some urine tests made and they could not find anything...they didnt itch or had any secretions coming out from my penis, and i was at the urologist and he said they are nothing to worry about and i just need to clean my penis and keep it dry...i talked to the girl i had sex and she told me that her gynecologist gave her an atrican (i searched on internet and found out that atrican is used to treat trichomonas) so i took it for myself too...2 times a day for 4 days...500mg capsules...i have finished my medication but i still have those small bumps wich are really small but sometimes they itch...

Hi, I've been having this problem for 2 months. The doc. suggests HPV-1, but it those pimples appear and go all the time. I also have painful sensation when pressing them. Have you resolved your problem?

Hello B, just for the benefit of other readers I am going to post some detail on Trichomoniasis below.
You do not state whether you had protected sex on unprotected without condom? What you most likely have is an accumulative effect of different things causing the bumps to be noticable, of which your recent sexual encounter was part of this.
These bumps are naturally present on the head of the penis, only, most of the time they are not irritated and are therefore not noticable - it is only when irritation occurs that they cause us a concern. For some men it can be difficult to trace the source of the irritation, and simply, everything that is regualrly applied to the head and foreskin of the penis has to be viewed as a potential source of the irritation.
Obviously, this can be something as simple as soap used to wash the penis, shower gels, body wash and suchlike. Skin creams used as lubes, particularly baby oil, condoms can be a severe irritation for some men, and I would suggest this is more likely the chemical that are on the inside of the condom (easy-on & spermicides, etc) that are causing the problem ........
The cure can be simple but drastic, prevent all potential sources of irritation from getting onto the skin of the head and foreskin of the penis .....

Trichomoniasis is the most common curable STD. In the United States, an estimated 3.7 million people have the infection. However, only about 30% develop any symptoms of trichomoniasis. Infection is more common in women than in men. Older women are more likely than younger women to have been infected with trichomoniasis.
The parasite passes from an infected person to an uninfected person during sex. In women, the most commonly infected part of the body is the lower genital tract (vulva, vagina, cervix, or urethra). In men, the most commonly infected body part is the inside of the penis (urethra). During sex, the parasite usually spreads from a penis to a vagina, or from a vagina to a penis. It can also spread from a vagina to another vagina. It is not common for the parasite to infect other body parts

Thanks for the further detail - once you stop using the genital cream and the spots are still visible you could try washing the penis with water only for 5 or 6 weeks to see if you get any further improvement ......

Why did you use a shampoo? Is this for the Trichomonas?
Water is the only thing that you should place on the head and foreskin of your penis, otherwise once you get these kinds of symptoms the skin can become so irritated that it is very difficult to get it to return to normal ......
Even certain soap powders in which you wash you towels you use to dry your penis with can be enough to maintain the irritation of the skin of the head of the penis.

no it was just a normal shampoo i just used it thinking i will clean my penis but it made it worse...so i should only use water and dry my penis?

just water or medical soap, usually prescribed by dermatologists. shampoo is the worst thing you can use to wash your penis.

Unless you know the chemical make-up of every medical soap the only SAFE option is to advise people to use water only - otherwise depending upon the individual circumstances, even prescribed soap replacement can cause irritation in the wrong circumstances ....
