Red burning cheek

Posted , 2 users are following.

About two weeks ago I developed a red burning, tight, itchy rash on one side of my face. My GP gave me a mild steroid cream for a week and it did calm it down slightly. I stopped using the cream after a week as advised by my GP and the symptoms have come back worse.

Skin is red, hot, tight, burning, itchy and painful. I have also developed itchy skin all over my arms, chest and neck. No rash though.

I am at my wits end. Does anyone know what this is?

Have you changed anything in your diet? or have you changed your soap /shower lotion? A change of detergent? Have you recently introduced a new plant into your house? A new pet? Any recent house decorating. eg painting?

If you are at work has anything been newly introduced? Even a colleague's perfume/aftershave? Are you in close contact with someone who has a cat/dog/pet ?

It sounds very much like an allergy and will disappear as mysteriously as it arrived. Have you taken any antihistamines?

If nothing helps do go back to your doctor. you may need further tests.
